The young woman was born as Laura McKeeman on October 2, 1988, in St. Petersburg, Florida, U.S.A. Laura grew up fishing in ponds, due to which, by elementary school, she aspired to become a marine biologist. She told the Tampa Bay Times, “I was always scooping fish out of the gulf. I wanted to be a marine biologist all through elementary school,”
After when her family moved to Atlanta, Georgia, Laura became fascinated by geography and meteorology. After high school, she picked up another interest- dancing. She thought of attending a ballet school but later settled for the University of Florida where she studied broadcast journalism. She worked at the school’s radio station while in college.

Laura began her career as a sports journalist at Fox Sports as a sideline reporter. Later had provided on-field reporting for the Fox College Sports coverage of the NCPA’s 2012 National Paintball Championship at Lakeland, Florida. In summer 2014 she joined ESPN and the SEC Network.
Laura has hosted the Coors Light PostGame show on Fox College Football and hosted halftime programming for FSN college football games.

The talented Laura is married to a professional baseball player, Josh Rutledge in 2013. They have been together ever since. The couple doesn’t have with any kids at the moment but in near future, they might have plans to have some for sure.
