Bret Bielema: Early Life and Education

Bret Arnold Bielema was born on the 13th of January, 1970, in Prophetstown, Illinois. He was born to parents Arnie Bielema and Marilyn Bielema. Bret grew up alongside two sisters Brandi and Betsy and the Bielema siblings are pretty close to one another. Looking at his family backgrounds, Bret is a White Caucasian and is an American by nationality.

Now coming to his academics, Bret joined the University of Iowa. He later graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the institution. Whilst in college, Bret was an amazing football player and it was certain that he would go on to pursue a career in the sport.

Bret Bielema: Career

Mater after graduating from his college, Bret began coaching the football team at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. With his team Wisconsin Badgers, Bret was able to end the regular season with a 14-0 victory over San Diego State. He was only the third coach of Wisconsin to win their first three games. Amazingly in November of 2006, he became the first head coach in Big Ten history to win ten games in a first season too. With his contribution to the team, he was nominated for the Coach of the Year Award but just came short to Gene Chizik. Next, on the 4th of December, 2012, Bret left Wisconsin to coach the Arkansas Razorbacks. His first season with the Razorbacks was not quite what he was looking for. The team suffered its worst record since entering the competition in 1992.

Slowly but surely, things began looking better with Bielema and his team. However, despite all his efforts in the first three seasons, the improvement was extremely minor. Next, on the fourth season, things ended with two consecutive embarrassing defeats. After his five years for Arkansas, Bret was sacked from his position and he left the team with the worst coaching record in school’s history.

Now coming into the personal aspects of Bielema’s life, he is married to the beautiful Jennifer Heilsberg. The two got engaged on the 1st of April, 2011 after having been together for over four years. Just a year later, on the 10th of March, 2012, Bret and Jennifer said their vows at a Catholic Church.
