Irtiqa Iqbal is the daughter of the former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir and PDP politician, Mehbooba Mufti. In case, if you don’t recognize Mufti, then from 4 April 2016 to 19 June 2018, she served as the last Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir as a State from the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Furthermore, her mother was detained without any charges at first and later under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act after the revocation of the special status of the state in August 2019. Then in October 202, she was released on the Supreme Court of India quizzed the government about the length of her detention, however, she was on house arrest.
