Tawny Kitaen is an American actress, model, and media personality. Unfortunately, she passed away at her Newport Beach home at the age of 59 on 7 May 2021. Investigators ruled her death as a natural process and also announced her official cause of death was dilated cardiomyopathy.
Moreover, she had appeared in a number of ‘80s music videos. She had appeared in several series and films including Malibu(1983), California Girls(1985), The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak and Bachelor Party(both 1984), and the horror film Witchboard(1986). She has also featured on reality television series like Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew(2008) where her issues with substance abuse have been documented.

The media personality was born on 5 August 1961 as Julie Ellen Kitaen in San Diego, California, the U.S. She was born as the eldest of three children born to Linda Kitaen and Terry Kitaen. Her mother was a housewife and one-time beauty pageant participant whereas her father, an employee of a neon sign company. She had the nationality of American and belongs to mixed ethnicity of Scottish, Irish, and Russian-Jewish heritage.
Regarding her education, she had dropped out of Mission Bay High School due to struggling with dyslexia as a child. There is no further information on her college nor high school education. In the 1980s, she started her career in the entertainment industry appearing in the television commercials of Jack LaLanne’s European Health Spas.
In 1983, she made her first acting role with a minor role in the television movie, Malibu. Since then, she had worked in several television series and films. It includes Witchboard, Instant Justice, After Midnight, California Girls, Santa Barbara, Seinfeld, Eek! The Cat, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In addition, she has appeared in many music videos of Whitesnake in the 1980s.
She had married Whitesnake singer David Coverdale in 1989 and they divorced in 1991. Before that, she had relationships with Ratt guitarist Robbin Crosby and a year-long affair with O. J. Simpson while he was married to Nicole Brown Simpson. Then she remarried again to baseball player Chuck Finley in 1997.
However, their married life didn’t last long, and divorced in 2002. Moreover, her husband filed for divorce and she was charged with domestic violence for an incident involving Finley. She agreed to undergo a spousal battery counseling program and stay away from Finley as part of a plea deal. Additionally, she had welcomed two daughters: Wynter and Raine.
Further, she had been arrested a few times during her lifetime: In November 2006, she was charged with possessing 15 grams of cocaine in Orange County. She was arrested in September 2009 for driving under the influence in Newport Beach, California. Sadly, she had died on 7 May 2021, at the age of 59, and declared her death as a “residential death”. Further, a spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in California confirmed that the actress’s death was caused by a dilated cardiomyopathy.
