The actress was born on 30 May 1979 as Jenny Ann Mollen in Phoenix, Arizona. She is the daughter of Jewish father Art Mollen who is a doctor by profession and has no information on her mother. She has a nationality of American and she grew up in a  Jewish family. Mollen has a biological sister and a half-brother. Regarding her education, she has graduated from Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona in the late 1990s. After graduation, she joined UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television and graduated from the university.

Following her graduation, she began to work at Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon. Since 2000, she has been actively working in the entertainment industry. This year, she started her tv career with a minor role of Susan Curran in 18 Wheels of Justice.
