Jojo Smollett is an American actor who has appeared in several television series and movies. He is widely recognized for his role as Jimi Jerrico on the ABC sitcom “On Our Own” which aired from September 1994 to April 1995. Besides that, he is an anchor and a television show producer for appearing in the food series Smollett Eats cast.
Also, he has five biological siblings: Jazz, Jussie, Jurnee, Jake, and Jocqui who all have made their careers in the entertainment industry. The actor was born on 28 August 1977 in Santa Rosa, California, the United States of America, under the zodiac sign, Virgo. He is the son of an African-American mother Janet Smollett and a Jewish father Joel Smollett. As mentioned above, he has five siblings: three brothers, Jake, Jacqui, and Jussie, and two sisters, Jurnee and Jazz. Regarding his education, he attended Paramus Catholic High School in Paramus, New Jersey.
The actor has a nationality of America and belongs to mixed ethnicity. He then made his career in the entertainment industry as an actor at the age of 14 in 1991 on the sitcom Roseanne. After that, he appeared in the episode of the popular series Scenes from a Barbecue and made a film debut in the crime drama City of Hope.
Besides that, he worked as a design coordinator in the 16 episodes of Living by Design with Jake and Jazz in 2019. He has also been the executive producer for Smollett Eats 2016.
