Dell Curry is an American athlete, Former Professional Basketball player, and Sports commentator. He had played in the National Basketball Association from 1986 to 2002. Curry was the leading player with the three-point field goals and in points (9,839). During his time in NBA, he was one of the best shooters.
Currently, Curry works as a color commentator on the Charlotte Hornets television. He co-commentates along with the other two members, Stephanie Ready and Eric Collins. Like father, sons of Dell’s, Steph and Seth Curry are an equally famous player in NBA.

Dell Curry: Early life, education, and career
Dell Curry was born on June 25, 1964, in Harrisonburg, Virginia as Wardell Stephen Curry. He grew up in Grottoes along with his siblings. But there isn’t much information about Dell’s Parents. During his high school days, he used coach’s barn to practice shooting daily. As a result, he scored the highest all-time scorer in school history. For all his dedication and achievements, he received a title as McDonald’s All-Star in 1982.
Besides basketball, he had also played baseball. Texas Rangers selected Dell in 1982 for Major League Baseball Draft. Therefore, he had won State Championships in both sports. In his senior years, he was drafted in the 14th round of the 1985 MLB draft by the Baltimore Orioles.

In 1986, Utah Jazz selected Curry in the 15th overall of NBA draft. Then in 1987, he joined Cleveland Cavaliers, where he played two seasons. Later on, in the expansion draft, he played for the Charlotte Hornets, where he spends his 10 years of playing. In 1994, he received the award as “the Sixth Man Of the year”. Currently, he ranks among the franchise’s all-time statistical leaders in points, three-point field goals made, attempted and percentage.

Talking about his personal life, Dell is a happily married man. Dell and Sonya Adams Curry exchanged the vows in 1988. Sonya was a Volleyball player at university, Virginia Tech, where they first met. Currently, Curry lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife and daughter. Together the couples have three children but their sons had moved out. His sons are NBA player like him and daughter is university volleyball player like her mother.
In 1998, the former NBA player established the Dell Curry Foundation in Charlotte, which is a youth-oriented charity program. This foundation runs five more learning centers in Charlotte. The program provides drug abuse counseling and educational training too.
