Indra Petersons is an American meteorologist who is famous for her work with the television networks CNN and NBC. For many years now, Petersons has been working as a weather anchor for NBC. Moreover, she also worked for CNN’s “New Day” and later with KABC-TV while she was living in Los Angeles.

Indra Valija Petersons was born on the 22nd of June, 1980, in Los Angeles. She was born to parents Dr. Viesturs T. Petersons and Silvija Petersons. Indra has two older siblings, Astra and Brita. Whilst very little is known about her early life, we do know that she is of Latvian descent but is American by nationality.
Now coming to her academics, Indra joined the La Canada High School in La Canada, Flintridge, California. Next, Petersons went on to join the University of Arizona and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Physics. Moreover, Indra minored in maths, physics, and business.

Indra began her career in meteorology right after graduating from her university. She began working for KVIA in El Paso, Texas, in 2002. Later that same year, Indra was offered a job in KEYT in Santa Barbara, California. After spending just under a year with the network, she took up a new position at KABC, in LA where she spent almost 10 years.
However, things took a change for the better when Indra joined CNN for their show, “New Day”. Whilst at the network, Indra was able to establish herself as the chief meteorologist and was covering various weather segments for CNN Newsroom alongside, Errol Barnett. Whilst working with CNN, Indra was able to find a good deal of fame and slowly but surely turning into one of the more prominent journalists in the industry. In more recent years, Petersons has been working for NBC News, having left CNN. She is also the holder of an American Meteorological Society Certified Broadcast Meteorologist certificate.

Now coming to the personal aspects of her life, Indra is married to Jake Wood, a former United States Marine Corps Scout Sniper. The two said their wedding vows on the 10th of August, 2013 and have been together ever since.
