Ann Curry: Early life, education, and career
Ann Curry was born on November 19, 1956, in Guam, the U.S. which makes her nationality an American. She was born to her parents Bob Curry who is from Colorado and her Japanese mother Hiroe Nagase. Curry has four siblings altogether. Living most of her life in Japan, Curry graduated from Ashland High School after moving to Oregon in the United States. After graduation, she attended the University of Oregon where she graduated with a B.A. degree majoring in Journalism.
In the year 1978 Ann began her career as an intern in KTVL which was actually an NBC-affiliated channel. After that, she joined the NBC-affiliate KGW in Portland. Four years later, she started working as a reporter in the KCBS-TV. For her reporting on the channel, she received two Emmy Awards as well. Formally in the year 1990, Curry joined the NBC News and started working as a correspondent then she moved on to become an anchor in the NBC News at Sunrise.
Similarly, the news anchor has additionally served as a substitute anchor for several other anchors filling in for TV news programs like Today, NBC Nightly News and many others. While on the network, she served as a reporter covering stories from around the world, which included the most critical events like tsunamis in Asia to Earthquake in Haiti.
