Doreen Lioy is an American magazine editor who is famous as the wife of Richard Ramirez, an American burglar, rapist, and a serial killer. When her husband was behind the bars, Lioy famously wrote over 75 letters to him. Despite all that he had done, Doreen was still madly in love with him.

Doreen Lioy is a former magazine editor who was born and raised in Burbank, California. Throughout the years, Lioy has been involved with several television documentaries and is notably popular for, “This Investigates: Love Behind Bars.” Whilst there is not a lot we have to share about her upbringings, we do know that Doreen is of White ethnicity and her nationality is American.
Doreen spent a significant amount of her career as a writer for a magazine. She was later promoted as an editor for a top paper. Moreover, Lioy was is also an author and has written the biography of Richard Ramirez: The Night Stalker.
Doreen Lioy: Personal Life
Now looking at the personal life of Lioy’s life, she was married to the murder and a convicted rapist, Richard Ramirez. As things stand, there is not a lot we have to share regarding their first meeting. However, Doreen infamously sent a lot of letters to Ramirez when he was in jail. As per reports, Lioy and Ramirez said their vows in the 3rd of October, 1996 in the San Francisco Prison. Despite all that Richard had done, Doreen always maintained that he was innocent and was a funny, and a charming man.
Because of her relationship with Ramirez, Doreen’s family disowned her. This, however, did not stop Lioy from loving her soulmate. She would go on to visit Richard for over 4 times in a week. She just did not care what others said of her.

Richard Ramirez’s state appeal was not the easiest of things for Doreen to experience. She had to go through her love’s appeal rejected with a death sentence on the 7th of August, 2006. Moreover, even the California Supreme Court denied his request for a rehearing. Sadly, Ramirez passed away on July 7, 2013, because of complication to B-cell lymphoma.
After the death of her partner, Doreen has now been living a quiet life. With all that she has done with her career, Lioy is probably worth millions. Moreover, as per reports, she made an annual salary of $53,000.
