Joe Maddon is an American professional baseball manager for the Chicago Cubs. He started his managerial career in 1993 with California Angeles. He has served under the managers like Buck Rodgers, Marcel Lachemann, and John McNamara, among five managers.

Joe was born on 8 February 1954, in West Hazleton, Pennsylvania as Joseph Joe John Maddon Jr. He was born as the son of Italian father Joe Sr. who owns a plumbing shop. His mother was a Polish and worked as a waitress in Hazleton. Joe’s initial surname was Maddonini but his father abandoned this surname to Maddon.
Maddon had attended Lafayette College and graduated in 1976. He was interested in sports since college days where he played baseball and football. In 2010, he received an Honorary Doctor of Letters from the Lafayette College. Also, he is a member of Zeta Psi fraternity.

Joe started his career as a manager with managing the minors after deciding to quit playing the sports. He served as the coach to Angels from 1994 to 2005. Then in 2005, he landed to manage the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He served the team under the manager Andrew Friedman. in February 2012, he signed the rays with the extended three years.

Coming to his personal life, previously he was married to his first wife Betty Maddon. There is not much information on their marriage and divorce details.
