The journalist was born on 25 April 1973 in Moscow, Russia which makes her age 45. She was born as the daughter to parents Abram and Tanya Roginsky having Jewish descent in Soviet dissidents. In 1990, her family migrated to the US, before that, she and her family lived with her grandparents in the Soviet Union until 1980 then for ten years, they became Refusniks.
