Malcolm Jamaal Davis was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on 12 April 1992. He grew up as a military brat, moving around and living in areas like California, Virginia, and Texas before spending the rest of his teenage years in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, finishing high school at Nile C. Kinnick High School in Japan. Davis’ inspiration to start writing music was after watching his cousin produce music in his room while living in Washington, D.C. After high school, Davis and his older brother, rapper Robert “24hrs” Davis (formerly known as Royce Rizzy) moved back to Atlanta, Georgia.

On 26 February 2016, MadeinTYO released his debut single on Commission Music and Private Club Records, titled “Uber Everywhere”.
