Ross Capicchioni: Early Life, Shooting Incident
There is very little known about Ross and his early life but he was born on the 21st of March, in 1990. Capicchioni is from Macomb, Michigan, which is a suburb outside of Detroit. Growing up he was just a normal kid and lived a simple lifestyle with his family and friends.
For education, Ross went to an average high school in Detroit and he was a beloved individual among family, friends, and teachers. It was in 2007 that Ross was at home when a friend of his invited him along for a ride to a cousin’s house on the east side of the city. Ross tried to refuse but after relentless pleadings, he agreed to give his friend a ride.
His friend was guiding his throughout and Capicchioni was driting on the east side of Detroit. After approaching the destination, his friend asked him to pull the vehicle over at the back of a house. Ross did not question or have any idea on what was going to happen to him. They both stepped out of the car and all of a sudden a first gunshot landed on his left arm.
Capicchioni was left in shock, and looked upon a friend standing a few feet away from him, with a shotgun aimed at him. Ross was confused and bleeding very heavily and asked his ‘friend’ if he had taken the shot. Before he even got a chance to finish the sentence he had a second shot taken at him; straight on his chest, creating a gaping hole. Ross fell down and heard a third shot which hit him in the head.
Ross Capicchioni: The Story of Survival
After firing three shots, the potential killer gave Ross one final blow on the face with the butt of the shotgun and he took Ross’s car and drove off. Next, the barely conscious body got to see his supposed friend drive off leaving him to die. He was lying in the streets in the pool of blood who has the willingness to live. So, Ross made a choice and tried getting up. It wasn’t easy for the kid to get up having been shot three times from a point-blank range. He was struggling but gave his last staggering go before again falling down. However, this time around, a probation officer saw Ross and immediately made calls for help. He stayed with Capicchioni and tried to encourage him to keep his eyes open.
Finally, ambulances came and took him to the hospital but doctors suspected that it probably was too late. Ross was pronounced dead on the arrival at the hospital but doctors kept trying their hardest. They took him to the emergency theatre for an open heart surgery. After three days of relentless hard work, hospital staff and the doctors managed the impossible. Ross came into consciousness and his breathing tube was taken out. For three whole days, his family did not know his whereabouts or even what he was going through. After some interrogations, his family was contacted and then they finally got to see Ross.
Ross Capicchioni: The Aftermath
After only 5 days at the hospital, Ross finally was on his way home. Next day he was greeted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). After years of the actual incident, the question still remains- why Ross? Capicchioni, says he was just being a helpful friend by giving him a lift. However, he believes his friend was trying to get into a gang and to prove he was ready, he had to kill someone; unfortunately, he chose Ross. However, it is all in the past now, Ross thankfully is still alive after the murder attempt failed. This also raises questions over the gun laws in the United States of America. When is it okay to discuss these outbreaks of violence?
