Victoria Osteen is an American author and Lakewood Church Co-pastor in Houston, Texas. She is Joel Osteen’s aunt and John Osteen’s daughter in law.

Victoria Osteen: Early Life, Education, and Family
Victoria Osteen was born in Huntsville, Alabama on 28 March 1961, to Victoria Iloff. Additionally, she lived near Marshall Space Flight Center where her father, Donald Iloff. Iloff is a mathematician with General Electric. Similarly, he was a member of the German rocket scientist Wernher von Braun’s Saturn rocket project team led by GE. At the age of two in 1963, Osteen moved to Houston, Texas with her family when her father took up a position with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). She grew up near the Manned Spacecraft Center (now known as the Johnson Space Center), in a southern suburb of Houston.
Growing up, Osteen attended the relatively conservative Church of Christ where her mother, Georgine Iloff, taught Sunday school, and her father served as a deacon. Osteen attended the University of Houston (although not graduating from) where she studied psychology while working in the jewelry business for her mother. She met Joel Osteen when she was working in the jewelry store and he came in to buy a new watch battery in 1985.

In 2003, Osteen created the Ministry of Women in the Lakewood Church where she currently serves as co-pastor. Her other activities include regular features on radio station 89.3 KSBJ in Houston. In addition, she helps organizations Feed the Children and The Bridge, a shelter. Osteen’s first novel, Love Your Life: Live Good, Safe, and Whole, was published by Simon & Schuster on 14 October 2008 and available for sale. It debuted on the New York Times Bestsellers chart at number 2. In addition, Love Your Life’s initial printing, of 750,000 copies, was one of the largest in 2008 by any US publisher. Osteen launched children’s books written by the imprint Little Simon by Simon & Schuster in January 2009. Her five-year Simon & Schuster deal includes 13 children’s books including a Bible.

In December 2005, a flight attendant from Houston to Vail on a Continental Airlines flight accused Osteen of shooting her after a liquid request was made on her armrest; witnesses denied this assertion. The FAA fined $3,000 for Osteen, and then flight attendant Sharon Brown brought a civil suit against Osteen, demanding $405,000 in damages. In August 2008, a Houston jury sided with Osteen, with the foreman finding the case a waste of time and accusing her of civil liability.
