Whilst she was born in Nepal, Chetry later migrated to the United States with her parents when she was only 7 months old in search of a better life. After moving to the US, Chetry spent most part of her years in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Now looking at her academics, Kiran joined Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring. Whilst in school, Chetry did serve in the swimming and the prom squad. Next, Chetry went on to join the University of Maryland, College Park’s College of Journalism. She graduated from the institution with a Bachelors of Arts in Broadcast Journalism.

Kiran then began her career in 1995 when she got hired by WICU-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania. After having spent over 5 years at the network, Chetry got the job at Fox News Channel. As an anchor and a general news reporter for Fox, Chetry enjoyed a successful period of 6 years.

Her career with Fox did not come to the greatest of ends as she decided to leave the network after a contractual dispute in 2007. However, this amazing journalist was able to land a role in CNN as the co-host on American Morning. She has even gone on to work alongside names like Anderson Cooper, Errol Barnett, and Paula Zahn.
