She was born to her African-American father, Allen Bonet, an opera singer while her Jewish mother Arlene was a music teacher. Bonet went to Birmingham High School in Van Nuys, California after which she attended Celluloid Actor’s Studio in North Hollywood majoring in acting.
Lisa participated in several beauty pageants when she was quite young, further she also appeared in some guest roles on television.
