Margie Willett was born in the year 1927 and grew up in Danville, Illinois. It was there that she met her future husband Van Dyne in 1947. As per reports, the two were in love at the first sight and got engaged after dating for a month. Next, they moved to Los Angeles and got married in presence of millions. Willett even has 4 children with Dyke- Barry, Carrie, Stacy, and Christian.

They were together for 36 years but the ride was never a smooth one. Van Dyke got in an extramarital affair with his agent’s secretary Michelle Triola. Dyke tried to keep this affair away from media and obviously his wife. However, he decided to come clean in 1976. After admitting what he was doing, Triola unsuccessfully sued Dyke for a six-figure sum. Next, the couple decided to split up and their relationship officially came to an end in 1984.
