Archie Miller: Early Life

Born as Ryan Joseph Miller to the basketballer father himself, John Miller, Archie was born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, the United States on 30 October 1978.

Archie and his brother played for their father’s team who coached Blackhawk high school. John is Archie’s first teacher and Archie earned the coachmanship from his father. Not just the Miller brothers, but their sister Lisa fell for the same passion; played Division I College Basketball.

Additionally, Archie’s brother Sean is the head coach for the men’s basketball team Arizona Wildcats at the University of Arizona. Sean has received the Pac-12 Coach of the Year three times. Furthermore, Sean is Archie’s role model.

Besides playing basketball, Miller graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism. While still at college, Miller played for Wolfpacks and won ACC Championship for his team. It was in the same university where he met his present wife Morgan Nicole Cruse Miller.

Archie Miller: Beginning of Professional Life

The 40 years coach started professionally at the age of 25. He initially started as the assistant coach with the Hilltoppers of the Western Kentucky University. After that, he joined to instruct the NC State University’s Wolfpacks during 2004. And then before he moved to Ohio, he instructed Sun Devils of Arizona State University.

Later from 2009 to 2011, Miller joined to coach the Sun Devils of Arizona State University. The period from 2011 through 2017 as Miller coached the men’s basketball the University of Dayton’s Flyers, the team collected good points. And so did Miller who stood a finalist for 2015’s Jim Phelan National Coach of the Year Award.

The athlete is currently coaching the Indiana Hoosiers men’s basketball team. At a certain point, Archie Miller remained a coaching staff of the USA Basketball’s U19 World Championship when his brother was the head coach.
