Jackson Galaxy is a cat behaviorist and the host of the television show ‘My Cat from Hell’. According to the Cambridge dictionary, Behaviorist is a theory that claims that human or animal behavior is based on mental training and the influence of habit, rather than being explained through thoughts and feelings.
Born on 28 April 1966 in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Galaxy’s real name is Richard Kirschner but later in his twenties, he changed his name as ‘Jackson Galaxy’. Talking about his educational qualification, he has a Master of Fine Arts in acting. Galaxy learned about the behavior of cats through his work with ‘Rescue cats’ and the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, Boulder, Colorado.

Jackson Galaxy: Early Life, Family, Education
The actor was born in Manhattan, New York City but he grew up on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. As a young boy, Galaxy aspired to become a rock star and initiated playing guitar by the age of 10. Jackson Galaxy: Career
Galaxy previously pursued his career as a rock musician for which he moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1992. But later in 2002, he started doing private practice as a cat consultant in co-founding Little Big Cat Inc. with Dr. Jean Hofve, a holistic veterinarian in animal shelters. Two of them slowly started providing consultations to cat owners about the connection between physical and behavioral health. Later in 2007, he moved to Los Angeles and continued private consulting practice. He started dealing one-on-one with cats in their homes to improve cats’ behavioral issues.
Currently, he is serving for Stray Cat Alliance and Fix Nation in Los Angeles as well as the Board of Advisers for Neighborhood Cats in New York City as the board of directors. Galaxy has appeared as the official cat behaviorist for Game Show ‘Think Like a Cat’ and as the cat behavior expert on Animal Planet’s ‘Cats 101’. The behaviorist has also starred in a reality TV series produced by Animal Planet ‘My Cat From Hell’ since May 2011. There, he helps cat owners resolve conflict and behavioral issues between them and their cats. He is also a host of the web series ‘Cat Mojo’ on the Animalist Network from December 2013, where he shares his thoughts on everything from cat-related issues like declawing to the use of squirt guns behind-the-scenes stories as a cat behaviorist.
