Katy Tur is an American broadcast journalist and an author. She works for NBC News as a correspondent and is also an anchor for MSNBC live. Tur has covered for a variety of news platforms under NBC. Beginning her career from 2005, Katy has been a part of several news coverages. In 2017 she also released her first book which added to her career as an author.
Katy Tur also comes from a journalism background as her father Robert Tur was a renowned journalist who later went through a gender identity crisis and took hormonal replacement surgery leading to a major change in name and gender. Katy was born on October 26, 1983, in Los Angeles California which makes her nationality an American. Her Father Robert Tur (now Zoey Tur) was a famous journalist working for many channels including CNN. Tur graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Philosophy.
Katy first worked for fox 5 New York, News 12 Brooklyn and WPIX-TV. Later in 2009, Tur joined WNBC-TV, a local station in New York City. Currently, they do not have any children and haven’t spoken about any such plans of starting a family yet as they have just been married.
